You also get the ability to back-calculate the other key dates.  For instance you can enter a due date based on an UltraSound date and Gestational age and then press “Lock EDC” so that you can quickly figure out what the Conception Date or Last Menstrual Period would have been!

In addition, you can play “what if” by changing the “As Of Date”.  For instance if a patient said she needed to travel at Christmas this year, you could quickly tell what her gestational age would be and be able to counsel her regarding the relative safety of travel.
