The following demonstrates an example where the user is changing the UltraSound date (US).  This shows how an additional selector bar allows you to select and enter both the date of the ultrasound and the average EGA of the ultrasound.

QUICK DUE DATE CALC
Also included is a “quick” Due Date Calculator. This is accessed by pushing the “DueDateCalc” button in the Tab Bar at the bottom of the screen. The purpose of this calculator is to allow you to do quick calculations of EDC and EGA on-the-fly, without having to save a patient. This happens when you are in L&D cross-covering or when you are on call and need to make a quick calculation. Note that this section of the program is also available for sale separately on the App Store under the name DueDateCalc.

Most of the use of this program should be fairly intuitive. Use the selector bar to select the point of reference for calculation: LMP (Last Menstrual Period), CD (Conception Date), US (Ultrasound Date), or EDC (Estimated Date of Confinement). For US, you will also get the Gestational Age picker to enter the best EGA based on ultrasound.

One additional feature of this calculator is the ability to back-calculate dates. By way of example, I am frequently asked (by patients or Medicaid) to figure out the date of conception. To perform this type of calculation you would use the “Lock EDC” button. First calculate the EDC based on whatever your best dating criteria are (LMP, US or EDC), then press the “Lock EDC” button. The button text and color will change to indicate your choice. The date picker wheel will be locked (except for the US gestational age picker). Next press CD and the wheel will spin to indicate the date of conception! I know, I know... pretty cool. DueDateCalc.htmlshapeimage_12_link_0

BACKUP DATA (SYNCDOCS)
I have now added the ability to backup your data file to your desktop. This process is very quick and simple once you have everything set up (which ought not to take more than about 5 minutes). First go to SourceForge and download the free program, SyncDocs. Install to your desktop (or where ever) and run the program. Set the Bonjour device name under setup. Leave the Port number and wireless IP address at the default settings. Click on the “more” tab at the bottom right, then click the SyncDocs row. Select your computer and the file will be transferred instantly. The data file is called “Patients.archive” and will be saved on your computer in the “downloads” folder. PLEASE BACKUP OFTEN!!! Watch the video below for basic instructions on this functionality. I am going to switch to YouTube documentation because it is so much faster and easier. http://sourceforge.net/projects/syncdocsshapeimage_18_link_0
